L-methylfolate calcium is standardized at 15 mg across all Lucin medications (clinically significant dose). The SSRI component is reduced ~10% from commercial reference dose to account for the complementary serotonergic effect of L-methylfolate. Ie. patient taking sertraline 25 mg, we recommend Sertralucin (Sertraline 22 mg and L-methylfolate calcium 15 mg).

Questions
What is a combination medication?
A combination medication is a single medication containing two or more active ingredients that have mechanistic complementarity. A common example you may be familiar with is Bactrim (Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole).
Escalucin, Fluoxlucin, Sertralucin, and Citalucin are combination antidepressant medications that are complexed with prescriptive L-methylfolate, which increases monoamine neurotransmitter synthesis while the SSRI blocks it's reuptake. Learn more here.
Why is the antidepressant dose in Lucin medication decreased ~10% from standard doses?
Prescription L-methylfolate enhances monoamine synthesis by supporting tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4)-dependent neurotransmitter production. Given its complementary mechanism to SSRIs, a modest reduction in the baseline antidepressant dose is utilized to mitigate potential serotonergic potentiation. For patients who are clinically stable and tolerating a given SSRI dose, a slight dose adjustment represents a conservative augmentation strategy while monitoring tolerability and therapeutic response.

Can I prescribe Escalucin, Fluoxlucin, Sertralucin, and Citalucin from any EHR?
Yes, SSRI+ can be prescribed from any EHR that connects to Surescripts. Direct prescriptions to our partner pharmacy, Valiant Pharmacy NCPDP ID: 5755167.
What happens after I send the prescription?
After you send the prescription to our partner pharmacy, we will email the patient with a secure payment link to collect payment for the medication + shipping address. Once this information is collected, our partner pharmacy will ship medication in discreet packaging via 2 day shipping.
How does Lume coordinate refill management + reminders?
We do our best to ensure that patients do not have lapses in their prescriptions as we understand this can be a major barrier that patients face in staying regimented taking their medication. For prescriptions that have a refill, we will automatically refill the prescription (24 hours prior to doing so, we will email the patient confirming the refill). For prescription that have no refills left, we will send you a reminder for a refill 10 days prior to when the refill would be needed.
